Morning Star: Astrology for the week of July 2 to July 8, 2018

Monday, July 2, 2018

This is an interesting week with a lot of...interesting minor aspects. Today, though, the Moon is Void until entering Pisces at 1:32 PM EDT. She is Void all day during the 4th, too. But, in between these long VOC periods what we are working toward first is a Yod created with Mercury as he passes over the North Node. As this occurs, the Moon in Pisces is sextile Saturn (midnight tonight) creating the base of the Yod.

What I see here is the potential to literally talk something into reality. Which means, be very aware aware of what you say and what you hear. Still, know there is accessible power here which needs to be respected first and foremost. But, it can also be put to use.
This is a high mixture of reality (Saturn) and imagination (Moon in Pisces) mixed with fire/passion and creativity. It's taking what is in reality and matching it up with our personal past experience and mixing with “what could be” (Pisces Moon) all in the form of something we would like to see in our own futures (Mercury/NN).

This energy begins to build tonight as Mercury officially makes an inconjunct to Saturn at 7:49 PM under an active Pisces Moon. The Moon and Saturn meet by sextile at midnight. Then, Mercury officially meets the North Node on Tuesday morning (5:29 AM). What I would suggest as exercise is to really think about what it is you want in your future. Where do you want to go? What do you want to do? Have? Be? Whatever. What do you want to pray for? I don't suggest trying to delineate the “how” of any of this just yet. All you have to do right now is focus in on what you want. A picture of it in your head. Then find a way to put that into words and send your wishes/prayers up. Get the wording precisely to you liking. Then, talk it up. Exchange your prayer with trusted friends. Exchange your ideas about the future and how you want it to look like with enthusiasm. We could literally talk something into existence under this energy and there is plenty I would like to see come about on both personal and global levels. This would be the night to search your heart and...quite simply...pray about it. Set intention toward it. This STELLAR energy for group prayer meetings, witches circles, gathering with friends under a common wish/vision for the collective future...ALL THAT.

Sharing your prayers/wishes for the future with others empowers them. The more folks you can get to think optimistically and hopefully about your plans, the better. My way of going about this will be to “say my prayers/intentions” prior to bedtime. Then, write them down and put the piece of paper under my pillow. When I get up, I will repeat my prayer and share my “wishes” with my husband.
It is DEFINITELY a time period in which you don't want to say anything you don't want to empower or “bring to life.” Meaning there is certainly accountability here and nudge toward “being careful what you wish for.” Still, this is none-the-less some powerful stuff being issued by the Universe in quite a sneaky way.
Prior to building toward this, the Moon does make a sextile to Uranus in Taurus at 5:39 PM which can actually serve as an inspirational catalyst (an “aha” moment or strike of brilliance) that gives us that “ooomph” toward bringing something to fruition also. It is also stellar for gathering the group together. Remember, you don't have to know “how” these prayers/wishes will happen just yet. But, it is greatly helpful to figure out what you want so you will know the best way to “aim” this. Plus, Mercury is not in RX shadow yet. He WILL BE at our next New Moon mid-month.

The Sabian for the Tuesday morning's Mercury/NN conjunction reads as follows:

For 6 Leo: Old fashioned belle and flapper admire each other. Realization of changeless subjective worth beyond changing appearances. Interchange of sympathies. Enhanced self awareness.

This is mutual appreciation between folks who come from different eras. Each version is admired for their positive traits. Each one secure in their own expression enough so that it the differences don't kick start competition. It doesn't matter that they are from different times, they are coming together amicably. There is understanding that underlies this Sabian and ability to both accept ourselves as we are while also accepting others as they are even if they may be different. This can also be a mutual appreciation and understanding of past and current versions of yourself. An ability to accept and honor both the younger and more naive version of you and the more wise and forward moving. At the very least, the symbolism does suggest an opportunity to learn more about yourself which is likely to occur as you contemplate how you would like to use this Yod.

By the time the Sun rises in this day on the East Coast, the Mercury/NN conjunction will be waning and the Yod will be flickering out. However, the Pisces Moon remains active through the day. And the magic doesn't stop with the minor aspects as we creep our way through the week.
We start with a flowing water trine between the Sun in Cancer and the Moon in Pisces which is relaxing, emotive and intuitive as all get out. So, pay heed to the language beneath the words today and note any kind of intuitive nudges you may receive. This trine ignites a full blown water trine that repeats the actions of Venus and Mercury as they passed through the sign of Cancer. But, now, it is the Sun who begins to wax into this trine. The Moon will leave the Sun quickly today. We have the Sun trine Jupiter waxing now and due to perfect on the 5th. The Moon will give prelude to this energy as she passes through this day, though.

The Moon meets Jupiter by trine at 4:22 PM. Again, Jupiter is vibrating strongly in his station point. So, his energy is quite potent at the moment. This is quite a dreamy and possibly even optimistic mood here. But, yes. Super sensitive and best used for relaxation efforts, spiritual cleansing...washing of the soul, metaphorically. She then meets Neptune by conjunction at 10:20 PM and I'm sincerely hoping this settles the aethers a bit so we can all get some sleep. The Full Moon coming in and popping brought little relief in that regard since the Moon then went on to hang out with Mars who is, of course, all hackled up still. But, here, we really could slip into deep relaxing slumber.
Restoration in sleep comes strongly forth as the Moon then makes a luscious sextile to Pluto in Capricorn in the morning at 5:47 AM EDT. This is a night of deep sleep but it is also likely that active work takes place in the dreamspace. Following the sextile with Pluto, though, the Moon is Void all day on the 4th. The Moon does not enter Aries until midnight that night.

The Independence Day that wasn't. That's what this looks like. As if folks are too afraid...too busy...have to work...are tired...or just are not really into festivities this year. Not on the exact day anyway. Doesn't matter under a Void Moon. You could skip the whole affair if you like and totally get away with it. It's a day of dulled emotions. The Moon is Void in Pisces having gone Void in a very deep sextile with Pluto. Don't feel obligated to go out if you don't feel like it. If you do feel like it, then go. Just don't expect it to be a “knock your socks off” affair. But, maybe there will be good food! And, my running theory with that is that “if nothing comes of a Void Moon” then calories don't really count either, do they? Yeah. I'm going to test that theory.

Ah...but if you are out late, don't forget about that Aries Moon flickering on (midnight). That can forebode a rude wake up call. Always seems that way to me when the Moon passes from Pisces to Aries anyway.
After the Moon falls Void, Chiron shifts to retrograde in Aries at 10:09 PM. He remains Rx until turning direct 12/9/18 at 27 Pisces 54.

Thursday, July 5, 2018

This day we shift from drifty to busy. Though, with the Sun entering the water trine officially there could be some push and pull with that. We need to engage. But, the atmosphere pulls us toward flow more than force. That just makes good sense given that the Moon's ruler (Mars) is back pedaling. But, even in the “flow” it's likely to feel like the currents move swiftly. The key with that is dealing with anxiety and feelings of having to rush. As in, we may FEEL rushed but the answer is going to be to stop. Catch your breath. Focus on what you are trying to do and, then, go forward gently. Again, this is not the day for trying to force. Flowing can be like...following where you are led (doing what feels right or natural to you in the moment), gently guiding others, taking things one step at a time. You don't want to work against the currents but you can adjust your sails to work with them to get where you want to go.
Sun trine Jupiter (7:05 AM) can make a person feel as if they need to be a superhero. Take on herculean efforts. But, Jupiter at his best is not grandiose (which prompts the ego nudge toward heroism). He is best when humble, wise, patient and generous. With Neptune in play here quite honestly this can lead to delusions of grandeur when not steered appropriately. And, I've seen it happen myself with folks who have been getting hit with this on and off Jupiter/Neptune business in their own chart. To keep it from going that way, think creative, empathic, sensitive, humble, generous. Plus, grounding helps the whole thing especially what we have coming in next.

At 7:48 AM, Mercury stands off with Mars Rx. This is time speeding up. It can be manic. It can be reactive. It can involve harsh words and cold actions. It can be flat out dangerous, actually, if you are not careful. What we are looking to do here is balance out the opposition from a well grounded position. But, oh yeah. We could certainly here some heated arguments here. Some quick declarations especially from those experiencing the delusions of grandeur. It's going to make things feel like they are moving really quickly, most likely. As if we have to rush. It can kick start anxiety as well. So, know that if you feel jittery, shaky or anxious, that's your cue to ground, cut down on stimulation and make sure you are letting the heart lead the way instead of a great big bubble headed ego. It's always a good idea to willingly take a dose of humility than have it force fed to you. I promise. And, that's best way to go with all this. Slow down. Deal with yourself. Balance out what you think versus what “they” are doing. Draw appropriate boundary...then keep going. And, stay frosty. If you let “it” or “them” cause you to get angry, you've already surrendered in this standoff.

At 5:29 PM the moon moves into this Mercury/Mars mixture first by meeting her current ruler by sextile. Then, she moves on to trine Mercury at 6:39 PM. So, even though the two are at odds, The Moon meets them both amicably meaning there is a way to address by being proactive emotionally and directly but gently addressing each energy.
At 3:51 AM, the Moon meets the Sun in Cancer by square creating our Last Quarter Moon. This will likely be the lowest week emotionally that we have for awhile. And, even at that, it's not likely to be as subdued as previous Last Quarters just due the fact we are thick in the ecliptic which has a tendency to make things feel shaky and uncertain. But, the theme of a Last Quarter is to shed. Here our metaphorical plant has bloomed and is now dropping leaves into the soil to be reabsorbed as nutrients in the next planting. So, that means focusing in on winding things down in preparation for the new start that comes under our New Moon (which is a partial solar eclipse) in Cancer next week.

Friday, July 6, 2018

The Moon is still active this morning. She moves away from the perfecting in her Last Quarter and goes on to square Pluto at 2:54 PM. This is deep, dark and potentially seething. Brute force can come into play here or there may be interplays with shadow, emotional manipulation and fear. She will then trine Venus at 3:09 AM before reaching Void status.

But, that's not the interesting part. The interesting part is what goes on by way of minor aspect beneath all this. At 12:27 PM EDT, Venus meets Pluto by biquintile. At 3:55 PM, Mercury in Leo meets Neptune by biquintile. Then, Venus moves on for another biquintile...this time with Chiron in Aries. Finally, after the Moon is Void, Mercury finds Saturn by yet another...yep...you guessed it biquintile at 6:30 AM tomorrow. What does that mean? It means, if you are brave enough to face down your fears effectively square off with your own demons in a way that you tap into this magical under swirl that you could uncover or even develop ideas/opportunities that you've never even dreamed possible. This is the gestation of our prayers from earlier in the week. Almost as if Divine inspiration is returned to us in response. To give you a bit of insight, here is write up from Cafe Astrology about how some of these minor aspects can play out in a natal chart. What this requires us to do is “go deep.” The Moon square Pluto can actually help with this if we are not slain by temptation or any of the 7 deadlies. Then, once we go deep, an entire cavern of secret desires and waiting to be born wishes, things we never had a chance to say or think...a whole treasure chest opens up.
The Moon is Void between 3:09 AM and 8:51 AM tomorrow. But, she wakes up spry and ready upon her entrance into Taurus. Ready for what? Well, we likely will decide that for ourselves through the end of this day and overnight. Depends on what is in that treasure chest. Or Pandora's Box.

Saturday, July 7, 2018

This morning the Moon has entered Taurus and will find Uranus in a “rut busting” and “push you out of your comfort zone” conjunction with Uranus in Taurus at 12:45 PM. She them moves on to stabilize herself in nice trine with Saturn in Capricorn at 5:59 PM. The key here is to keep calm. Seek out grounding and the common sense/practical answers and stick to your plan. Hold yourself on course while allowing the Moon/Uranus conjunction perhaps to inspire you toward simple solutions.
As the day moves forward, the Moon will re-ignite the volatility happening with Mars and Mercury (from the opposition earlier this week) around the nodal axis. This happens between 7:43 PM tonight and 6:41 AM tomorrow. The outlet for the fixed t-square, here, falls in Scorpio. So, survive. Endure. Hold steady. Face off with your fears. Go deep with this and prepare to run into shadow in order to get through this effectively. Doesn't look good for sleep, again. But, hopefully you were able to monopolize on last night's Void Moon to offset the ill effect of that.

A sense of accomplishment does help within this day. But, our sense of security could be shaken, too. It's nearly like an internal storm that breaks loose here. The answer to that being, ride it out. Be brave. Weather the storm and we can emerge tomorrow and discern what it is may need to deal with after.

Sunday, July 8, 2018

The Moon is still active this morning having passed through that mess I mentioned at the end of yesterday's write up. Today, the Sun trines Neptune at 10:42 AM winding out her stay in the water trine. This is flowy and creative. More passive than aggressive. Gentleness is key and, surely, intuitive hits/dreams have been a busy place this week due this trine.
The Moon comes to relax into this with the Sun. At 8:31 AM, she is opposed Jupiter in Scorpio. Then, At 1:47 PM, she is relaxed and likely fatigued in a sextile to Neptune. This is quickly followed by a sextile to the Sun in Cancer at 2:01 PM. Then, we wind out the night with a lunar trine to Pluto at 8:11 PM.

I don't know what the question is here. But, a comfy spot with a filled up plate of good food is likely the answer. This is not the day for self-denial or drudgery. This is a day of gentle activity, if any at all. Filling up your gut and finding a soft spot to laze in is the way to go here. Trust me. When the opportunity comes along to take a rest, we need to take advantage of it right now. One drifted unexpectedly my way at the end of last week. I took an impromptu vacation (well...stay-cation, I didn't go anywhere) from my own work just because the opportunity to do so came up and well...it has been almost 5 years since I have had a vacation at Shock Therapy. Mainly because doing this gig doesn't feel like work to me. But, yeah..if you have a chance to take a day off...take a break...and remember what it means to relax...jump...all...over...that! Those chances are going to become more rare as we move more fully into this ecliptic.
The Moon remains active through the night. Tomorrow, she is Void for a brief 40 minutes (following a square with Venus at 12:10 PM) as she enters Gemini at 12:58 PM. This is also our last day of Venus in Leo. She enters the sign of Virgo at 10:32 PM tomorrow night. AND! Jupiter officially stations direct on Tuesday the 10th! Yay!
