New Moon in Virgo: A Gathering of Witches

Image
This New Moon comes in at precisely 17 degrees. Packing precision being a VERY Virgo thing to do. The Sabian Symbol for that degree reads: A Volcanic Eruption. Which doesn't sound very helpful or Virgo at all. Virgins and Volcanoes historically do not mix well. However, this is an Earth sign and with Uranus still in Taurus (as Venus waxes in for her first of 3 oppositions), the Earth's topography will continue to change. Volcanoes notorious instigators of this. There is a bursting of energies with that. The “blow” seemingly to happen suddenly has been brewing beneath the surface for some time, however. There has been a slow build to the point where we find ourselves now. But, as this Moon phase progresses the evolution of change within our landscape will slowly begin to take place. We have quite a collection of bodies in the sign of Virgo. The Sun and Moon of course both in orb of Jupiter, Neptune and Pluto. But, the Queen of the Witches has also arrived to the sign of the natu...

Morning Star: Astrology for September 5 to September 7, 2018

Wednesday, September 5, 2018 This morning, the Sun, Moon and Neptune are all linked together. The sextile from the Moon in Cancer to the Sun in Virgo officially waxes in at 5:32 AM. The Sun is waxing into opposition with Neptune which is due to become exact on 9/7. However, the Moon will trine Neptune at about 9:30 AM. She will move forward to trine Jupiter in Scorpio at 1:56 PM. This all happens between 12 and 17 degrees of their respective signs. Meaning, we have a brief kite lit during this passage that mixes a water trine with Earth. The opposite of the Earth trine tipped by a Water point that will experience when Mercury enters Virgo later today. A second kite (Water trine tipped in Earth) is lit up briefly as the Moon opposes Pluto at 19 degrees Cap (3:42 PM). If you have planets between 12 and 19 degrees of Earth, you have direct access to this kite. There are several different ways you can use this. But, let me see if I can boil it down to an essence for you. The Sun, Moon, Pl...

Morning Star: Astrology for September 3 and September 4, 2018

Monday, September 3, 2018 The Moon is waning in Gemini and still active this morning (having just passed a square with Neptune at 6:42 AM EDT) as her current ruler, Mercury in Leo, meets Venus in Libra by sextile. Part of the relevance of this sextile is that it occurs just as Venus has entered her retrograde shadow and JUST after Mercury has exited his own. Meaning, we know a little bit about who we are and have a more firm grasp on how it is we wish to express that. But, the heart may change in regard to what we appreciate and how as we move forward. That being said, this is generally a very light and congenial aspect in which we are encouraged to say something supportive, kind and maybe veer away from criticisms in our actions with others. One of those...if you cannot say anything nice then shut your trap, kinda deals. On a low end, this aspect can seek constant validation from others when they are not firmly rooted in an accepting sense of self. But, really...it's best used f...

Morning Star: Astrology for September 11 to September 15, 2017

Monday, September 11, 2017 This morning, the Moon is considered Void as she works her way through the last bit of Taurus while creating a Yod with Jupiter and Saturn in our early morning hours. Saturn is an assured player in our week to come. Venus in Leo will meet him by trine tomorrow evening. The Sun in Virgo will meet him by square on the 13 th . Of course, the Moon will oppose him from Gemini, as well. At 3:30 PM, the Moon does leave Taurus and re-activate in Gemini. Her first aspect is a harsh square to her current ruler, Mercury in Virgo (5:55 PM). The clutch between these two is finding usefulness in conversation. Gemini can chatter incessantly. Mercury in Virgo wants to know the point. By giving conversations an end point, a problem to solve, then Gemini's curiosity and willingness to learn comes in handy. But, if you've ever tried to fix something with someone standing over your shoulder chattering about nonsense and asking ten million questions, then you know how thi...

Morning Star: Astrology for September 4 to September September 8, 2017

Monday, September 4, 2017 This morning, we begin on stable footing as the Moon in Aquarius meets Saturn in Sagittarius by sextile at 9:05 AM. The day continually improves as the Moon trines Jupiter and then sextiles Uranus carrying us from 11 AM to 11 PM under an air of buoyancy, accountability, ingenuity and dare I say...even a bit of lightness brought forth by way of communal support. Later, tonight, the Moon will oppose Mercury and Mars as the Sun in Virgo perfects in opposition to Neptune. This all occurs between 10:34 PM and 1:30 AM tonight. Following the Moon's opposition with Mars at 1:17 AM, she is Void until entering Pisces at 1:30 AM. When we wake in the morning, Mars will have left Leo and entered Virgo. Calls to duty become focused on clean up, service, harvest and fixing. Plus, at 7:21 AM in the morning, Mercury completes his turn-about and officially stations direct. Decisions and perspective may do an about face and we may notice a few hiccups in the Mercurian realm...

Morning Star: Astrology for the week of August 1 to August 5, 2017

Tuesday, August 1, 2017 Early this morning the Moon in Scorpio met Chiron by trine at 4:55 AM; then, Uranus by inconjunct. She is Void until entering Sagittarius at 8:02 AM. Her only major aspect is a square to Mercury in Virgo at 10:00 PM. In the meat of the day, she does make minor aspect (inconjunct) to Venus newly in Cancer while finding both Jupiter and Pluto by semi-square at 12:15 and 1:15 PM respectively. Semi-squares are a 45 degree aspect. It's interesting because this means that the Moon is passing through the midpoint of the waxing Jupiter/Pluto square due to perfect on August 4 th . With that, we will have some nuance in relation to that square trickling into the collective mood at midday. With the Moon in the sign of the Archer, ruled by Jupiter, it is a time in which deep truths could emerge thus leading us into the hard or strained discussions brought forth by the Lunar square to Mercury later in the day. The operative word here is truth and not insidious conflati...
